All over Zambia
These birding adventures, will take you to remote and wonderful areas of Zambia. 8 out of the top 10 special birds in Western Zambia are located in the North-West area near Mwinilunga. These include Black-collard Bulbul, Angola Lark, Bamboo Warbler, Forbes's Plover, Grimwood's Longclaw, Black-and-rufous Swallow, Laura's Woodland-Warbler, and Margaret's Batis. Then on to Choma and Livingstone in the Southern Province of Zambia, to find the 9th Western special, the endemic Zambian (Chaplin's)Barbet, and finally the 10th, the near-endemic - Black-cheeked Lovebird. Not to miss is the African Pitta in Lower Zambezi, Shoebill in Bangweulu wetland system and Pels fishing Owl.
Self Drive or Guided Tour
Day 1 : Arrive Zambia at Livingstone airport.
Day 2 : Trip to search for Black-cheeked Lovebirds in the Machile IBA and some thornveld species.
Day 3 : Birding looking for African Finfoot and other local specials and sunset cruise.
Day 4 : Morning: Visit to the Victoria Falls followed by Birding in the Mosi-O-Tunya National Park with packed Lunch Afternoon: Birding Taita Falcon Lodge area, along the Gorges.
Day 5 : Morning: Early morning birding in the Gorges around the Lodge. Afternoon: Birding Nkanga Conservation Area (NRCA) in Choma
Day 6 : A Full Day trip to Lochinvar.
Day 7 : Birding in NRCA searching for the Zambian Barbet and Miombo specials such as Racket-tailed Roller and Arnot's Chat.
Day 8: departure Lusaka or Livingstone International Airport
