At Project Luangwa, we learn about the efforts to conserve and protect the natural resources of the area. The Baobab Shop is a great place to pick up souvenirs made by local artisans. Seka dance performance

One of the most popular Zambian dances is the Seka dance. The Seka dance is performed by women and is Zambia's national dance. It is a lively and energetic dance that involves clapping, stomping, and shaking of the hips. Zambian women often wear brightly colored skirts and blouses while performing the Seka dance. The dance is usually accompanied by drums and other percussion instruments. The Seka dance is a beautiful Zambian tradition that is enjoyed by both Zambians and tourists alike.

Mulberry Mongoose workshop visit (make your own piece of jewelry)

Mulberry Mongoose is a unique jewelry workshop that uses snare wire recovered from poaching traps to create handmade jewelry inspired by the African bush. The workshop is run by a team of skilled women, who love to share their work and stories. The group of creative and courageous ladies, believe in bringing women together  and to help each other achieve the seemingly impossible. The money the workshops earn goes into the lively hoods of the women and conservation efforts. A visit to the workshop and talk with the women is an inspirational experience. The ladies look out for each others like Mongoose do (try to find them during your game drives) and during this visit you can be a part of it.

Join us to donate reusable / washable sanitary towels to young girls.

Every day, millions of girls around the world are forced to miss school because they don't have access to sanitary towels. This is not only unfair, but it also puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to their education and future opportunities. In Zambia girls face the same problem. So join us in our mission to donate reusable and washable sanitary towels to young girls in need. Our initiative provides pads that can be washed and reused, meaning that girls will no longer have to miss school or worry about where their next pad will come from. With your help, we can make a difference in the lives of girls all over the world. Donate now and help us reach our goal!

On the Treasured chests ladies tour we have included

An experienced private female driver and guide will drive and guide the group from Lusaka and ending in Livingstone.

This tour supports a donation

The donation will go towards supporting our ongoing work in the region. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of those we serve, and your donation will help us to continue our work. We will appreciate your support!

A visit to a Community NGO veterinary project

the opportunity to go out with the vets on whatever task they have for the day - vaccinating the local goats/ cattle, etc. NGO veterinary projects are important for the health of animals and the people who live near them. By vaccinating goats and cattle, NGO veterinarians help to prevent the spread of disease. In addition, NGO veterinarians often provide education to local people about how to properly care for their animals. As a result, NGO veterinary projects play a vital role in improving the health of both animals and people. It is an amazing experience, and you will learn a lot about the importance of NGO veterinary projects.

Ntanda Ventures has won a leading award-winning tour operator of Africa safaris designed for women by women

Some suggested “The women should go to Zambia with Ntanda venture tour for many reasons, but the most important one is that they will be able experience what it feels like on both sides of life: as tourists and locals. They can see how different cultures live in this beautiful African country while getting a taste of authentic culture themselves at the same time! This way, you not only get your preconceived notions about Africa shattered into smithereens - which I'm sure would make any traveler happy (although maybe not quite so much if those were husband or boyfriend)-but also develop deeper empathy towards other people living around us because no matter where we travel there are always stories worth hearing”.

Travel Tips

The best time to visit Zambia is between the months of May through October. It is the dry season and animals are easier to spot because they come out in search of water. The weather is also cooler June-August, making a walking safari and hiking more comfortable for visitors who may be less acclimated to heat than locals. April, November and December are our favourite months – these month’s end and the beginning of the rains so you may get short, warm showers which settles the dust and bring some relief from the heat at the end of the year.

  • To enter Zambia you need a negative Covid PCR test done in 72 hours or less of arrival in Zambia

Great experience - professional yet personal, would highly recommend

I came to Zambia for work and wanted to extend with a few extra days. With a bit short notice and for a holiday weekend Ntanda Ventures and Sonja helped me book a bush break in South Luangwa. Communication was easy and I really enjoyed the professional/knowledgeable but personal connection. My preferences were heard, all my questions answered and we worked together on finding a good fit. I was travelling alone and Sonja quickly understood what I was looking for and made suggestions based on local knowledge and experience, exactly what I needed! Due to unforeseen weather changes we had to make some changes to the plan and Sonja made sure to check with me what I would prefer and be okay with, and checked in with me along the way - everything was taken care of so I only had to enjoy the trip. It was a last minute plan, but she made it very easy and enjoyable for me - if I were to come back I would surely reach out and book through them again.

Just wanted to say thank you for organising our superb trip to the Lower Zambezi! The Royal was absolutely fantastic! Beautifully decorated, comfortable rooms, great service , delicious food and incredible game viewing! We went into the National Park , saw 6 leopards in two days, 2 of which were fighting over territories. A huge herd of buffalo coming down to the watering hole, the Brutal brothers male lions , so many elephants and their babies - we even had one wondering around the camp! Our sightings were endless! The staff have created a wonderful, friendly environment. Everyone is helpful and hospitable, we even had a watercolour art lesson whilst there! Thank you everyone, The Royal is certainly a choice destination and we’ll be back soon!
