5 night - Classic Safari - Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park and Ngorongoro Crater

Accommodation in Luxury Tented Camps and Luxury Safari Lodges

Day 1 : – Kilimanjaro International Airport – transfers and overnight Arusha

Day 2: – Arusha – Tarangire National Park. After breakfast at the Lodge you will start towards Tarangire National Park with lunch boxes. The park’s most obvious features are the permanent Tarangire River, which runs the length of it, and the vast ‘swamps’ – which are, in fact, dry for most of the year. Tarangire is famous for its dense wildlife population which is most spectacular between June and October, the dry season. During this time thousands of animals, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, eland, hartebeests, kudus, Wildebeests and the rarely seen Oryx, migrate from the dry Massai Steppe to the Tarangire River looking for water.

Day 3: – Tarangire National Park – Serengeti National Park After breakfast, you will head towards Serengeti National Park. You will pass the colorful town of Mto-wa-Mbu. Then you will climb up the Ngorongoro Crater and enjoy a spectacular view down to the crater. While in Ngorongoro Conservation Area you can visit a Massai Boma. When you climb up the big stones at the Naabi Gate, you will have a beautiful view on the endless plains of the Serengeti and in backround you will see the Ngorongoro Highlands. In the later afternoon, you will arrive at the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: – Serengeti National Park. After Breakfast depart on gamedrive in the Serengeti. The Serengeti is rich in its diversity of landscape. The spectacle of predator versus prey dominates Tanzania’s greatest park. Golden-manned lion prides feast on the abundance of plain grazers. Solitary leopards haunt the acacia trees lining the Seronera River, while a high density of cheetahs prowls the southeastern plains. Almost uniquely, all three African jackal species occur here, alongside the spotted hyena and a host of more elusive small predators, ranging from the insectivorous aardwolf to the beautiful Serval cat. Gaudy agama lizards and rock hyraxes scuffle around the surfaces of the park’s isolated granite kopjes. A full 100 varieties of dung beetle have been recorded, as have 500-plus bird species, ranging from the outsized ostrich and bizarre secretary bird of the open grassland, to the black eagles. In the later afternoon, you return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: – Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu. After an early breakfast you will leave Serengeti and proceed to Ngorongoro Crater. It hosts about 30.000 large animals including some of the Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos. Most of the animals stay in the crater all year around, because water supplies never dry out. You will find hippos, hyena, jackal, cheetah, lions, ostrich, elephants, warthog, eland and hartebeests there, as well as huge herds of Thomson’s and Grant’s gazelles.Lunch will be served at the hippos’ lake before ascending to Ngorongoro Crater rim and arrive at the Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: – Karatu – Arusha After breakfast your driver will bring you back to Arusha for your international flights or connection to Zanzibar.
