Despite some inaccurate reports implying that the Victoria Falls is drying up, this iconic African jewel has struck back recording its highest peak flow in decades.

The flows are now over fifty percent above the recorded long-term average flow, thundering at more than 4 million litres per second.

The Victoria Falls known by the locals as Mosi-oa-Tunya meaning “The Smoke That Thunders” can be heard a mile away and seen approximately 35km away on the Livingstone town road during the peak season. It brings a lot of excitement to all our hearts.

The river is pumping again, Islands are under water, hippos have moved to quieter areas away from the raging current. The falls are thundering again and at their magnificent best causing beautiful scenes like these:

It is always the most beautiful thing to come to, and we do hope we will be welcoming you soon to see the falls in its glory.
