The Zambezi, which means “Great River” in the local Tonga language and is a little explored river that evokes mystery. The source of this mighty stream is remote northwest Zambia where it flows through countries like Angola or Namibia. It attracts thousands of travelers around the world by giving great opportunities like best game viewing, various water sports, and other exciting activities of African safari.

Zambezi is the home of Hippos, crocodiles, and birdlife and thousands of fishes. You can see large wild animals including giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras and buffalo at its coastal woodland. The local people call the Zambezi River “the river of life” because it provides them with water for growing their crops and fish to eat.

When it re-enters Zambia, the river is about 400 meters (1300 feet) wide at its narrowest point and flowing very quickly at Cholwezi rapids. After meeting with Chobe river and becoming the border of Botswana, it is at this point that the four countries; Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe meet. The river then flows about 80 km down towards Victoria Falls.

Above the victoria falls, visitors can enjoy exciting and enchanting activities including best game viewing, river cruising, canoe trips, kayaking and other water and village tour activities. A trip back to Zambia

We both lived in Kitwe Zambia in the 60's,70's & early 80's and had not been back since I left in 1984. It was a wonderful memorable trip where we started in Lusaka, then went down to The Victoria Falls, back to Lusaka, up to Kitwe and finally to Luangwa Game Reserve. We met friends who we had not seen for over 30 years. A really wonderful trip all put together with the professional help of Ntanda Ventures.

Make it easy on yourself. Book with Ntanda Ventures.

Ntanda Ventures helped me plan and book a trip to Lower Zambezi while my brother was visiting the country. They were responsive whenever I had a question, were knowledgable about the options, and clearly listened when I gave them information or asked questions. I would book through them again in a heartbeat.
