Kasaka River Lodge the closest self catering safari lodge to the National Park gate. The lodge is located in the Chiawa Game Management Area bordering the Lower Zambezi National Park. Kasaka is just four kilometers by road from the Lower Zambezi National Park. Kasaka offers a fantastic riverside location on the banks of the Zambezi River, directly across from the Mana Pools in Zimbabwe.
Eight ensuite tents are clustered on either side of main living and deck areas.. Hippo pod has two ensuite bedrooms with its own swimming pool. Kasaka's outdoor communal main and dining areas are at the heart of the camp. Set overlooking the beautiful Zambezi river, with the escarpment providing a dramatic backdrop, the view is truly stunning. Self Catering Safaris - Wildtracks Lodge Lower Zambezi
Set in riverine forest 15 km downstream from the confluence of the Zambezi and Kafue rivers, Wildtracks Lodge is situated on the doorstep of one of Africa’s great wilderness areas, the Lower Zambezi and the best place for bush adventures.
Wildtracks operates throughout the year. Booking is essential. Whether you bring your own boat, or use one of the lodge boats, Wildtracks is the ideal base from which to explore the lower Zambezi. Relax, set your own pace and go with the flow of the Zambezi.
Three large, private campsites are also available for those looking for a closer encounter with our natural surroundings. These are separate from the lodge and campers need to be self- sufficient. All campsites have power and water supply.
Our chalets can sleep up to 16 people in twin or double en suite bedrooms. Each room has its own entrance, and twin and double rooms also have an internal interleading door making them ideal for families with children.

The lodge sleeps 16 people comfortably in 8 ensuite rooms and perfectly setup for families with children. There is also a more secluded furnished, self-catering en-suite safari tent with own kitchen.
The large boma and swimming pool overlook the river and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare meals.

Wildlife: approx. 60 antelope (sitatunga, wildebeest, hartebeest, puku, reedbuck, , bushbuck, duiker), civet cats, jackal, pangolins, bush babies.
Welcome researchers who can document any of the following : orchids, riverine vegetation, pangolins, sitatunga, civet cats, bush babies, birds.
We support, and work actively with a local village “Wina Community Committee”
Broader activities to promote sustainable development (conservation farming, fish farming, reduction in deforestation, education scheme, local football team)
Note this is a remote corner of Zambia with high rainfall. Roads can be bad, especially in the rainy season (Nov-April), so a 4x4 is recommended, and journeys should be seen as an adventure not a rush.
Monkey Cottage on the Kafue River, Copperbelt
Rustic 2 bedroom / 1 bathroom cottage set on the banks of the Kafue River and only 1 hours drive from Chingola Town Centre. The perfect place to unwind, great for birding, bush walks, bicycle rides or take your own boat and try your hand at some fishing (catch and release only) and a splash pool.
- Chimfunshi Chimpanzee Orphanage is a 15km drive from the tarmac turnoff.
- Perfect stopover on the way to the Source of the Zambezi near Mwinilunga, which is also an excellent birding area (IBA) or to West Lunga National Park.
